Back to Northfield!

The famous “Return to Northfield Project “ is back and better than ever. Rolling on from last year’s success the project is now in its second year and is already proving to attract a lot of attention. From the first session 2 weeks ago we have been bowled over with the response we have had from the youngsters at Northfield with over 20 budding skaters and BMXers making their way to the park to see whats on offer.

The latest element that has been added to the mix is the allocation of 5 BMX bikes that have been donated to the project. Last Friday we held a “build-a-bike” workshop where kids had a chance to help build the bikes from scratch before they could tear up the skatepark. The day was threatened by rain but the gym hall at Northfield community centre was a close second best and gave us enough shelter to get the job done and let the youngsters enjoy their new bikes.

Big thank you to all involved with a special mention to Jamie Mclennon, Amber Clarkson, Mike Hume, Lauren Macallum and Andre Fowkes (the BMX engineer)
